Thanks to the refined synergy within the Elune's Chosen Hero Talent tree, Balance enjoys incredibly smooth Astral Power generation and devastating burst windows. The spec excels at sustained spread cleave and priority target swapping, making it an invaluable asset for navigating the Void-corrupted encounters of the new tier. While mobility remains a slight weak point during heavy movement phases, proactive positioning and effective use of Stellar Flare ensure your damage profile remains fiercely competitive.

Stat Priority

Optimizing your secondary stats is critical to maximizing your output in 12.0.7. The general priority for Balance Druids is:

• Mastery: Our most valuable secondary stat. Mastery: Astral Invocation massively increases the damage of our Eclipse-empowered spells and abilities, making it the primary driver of our DPS in both single-target and AoE scenarios.
• Haste: Reduces cast times, increases DoT tick rates, and lowers the global cooldown. Haste smooths out the rotation and ensures you can squeeze maximum casts into your Celestial Alignment/Incarnation windows.
• Critical Strike: Provides a solid, flat damage increase across the board, but scales slightly worse than Mastery and Haste once diminishing returns hit.
• Versatility: The least valuable stat for raw throughput, though the passive damage reduction can be helpful during high-tyrannical Mythic+ keys.

Core Rotation

Single-Target Priority

1. Maintain DoTs: Ensure Moonfire, Sunfire, and Stellar Flare (if talented) are active on the target at all times.
2. Enter Eclipse: Cast two Wraths to enter Lunar Eclipse, or two Starfires to enter Solar Eclipse. Always aim to be in an Eclipse state.
3. Trigger Cooldowns: Use Incarnation: Chosen of Elune / Celestial Alignment on cooldown, paired with trinkets and potions.
4. Spend Astral Power: Cast Starsurge to dump Astral Power and empower your upcoming Eclipse generators. Do not overcap Astral Power (max 100).
5. Generate Astral Power: Cast your Eclipse-appropriate generator (Wrath in Solar, Starfire in Lunar).

AoE (3+ Targets) Priority

1. Maintain AoE DoTs: Apply Sunfire (which naturally spreads) and tab-target Moonfire on priority adds.
2. Enter Lunar Eclipse: Cast two Wraths to trigger Lunar Eclipse, which significantly buffs Starfire's AoE splash damage.
3. Spend Astral Power: Cast Starfall instead of Starsurge. Ensure 100% uptime on the Starfall aura during AoE encounters.
