Enhancement Shaman: Patch 12.0.7 Guide

The Meta Context

In Patch 12.0.7 of the Midnight expansion, Enhancement Shaman solidifies its role as a premier, high-octane melee specialization with an incredible capacity for sustained cleave and burst windows. Leveraging a fast gameplay loop centered around Maelstrom Weapon generation, Enhancement is exceptional in both mythic raiding environments and high-tier Mythic+ keys. The specification's identity scales powerfully depending on the chosen Hero Talent path: Stormbringer amplifies devastating lightning synergies, causing Tempest procs to completely shred clustered pulls, while Totemic drives passive physical and elemental damage support directly into the core rotation. Enhancement remains highly prized for bringing fundamental party utility via Windfury Totem, Bloodlust/Heroism, and unmatched short-cooldown spell disruption.

Stat Priority

Balancing your stats correctly ensures your physical attacks and elemental spenders chain together seamlessly without bottlenecks in resource velocity.

Core Rotation

Enhancement gameplay relies on maintaining active weapon imbues, tracking Flame Shock targets, generating Maelstrom Weapon stacks, and spending them on high-damage spell vectors.

Single-Target Combat Priority

  1. Ensure Windfury Weapon and Flametongue Weapon are active on your main-hand and off-hand weapons.
  2. Deploy Windfury Totem and ensure the party is within range of the aura.
  3. Cast Feral Spirit strictly on cooldown to generate passive elemental damage multipliers.
  4. Apply and maintain Flame Shock on the primary target.
  5. Spend maximum Maelstrom Weapon stacks (at 8–10 stacks) on Lightning Bolt (or Elemental Blast, if talented) to maximize resource efficiency.
  6. Cast Stormstrike (or Tempest if triggered by Hero Talents) strictly on cooldown or during Stormbringer resets.
  7. Cast Lava Lash to maintain active weapon dots and consume hot hand modifiers.
  8. Use Ice Strike followed immediately by an empowered Frost Shock loop.
  9. Use Crash Lightning as a single-target filler when main ability windows are cooling down.

AoE & Multi-Target Priority

  1. Cast Crash Lightning early to activate the passive frontal cleave modifier for your subsequent Stormstrikes and Lava Lashes.
  2. Apply Flame Shock and use Lava Lash with the Molten Assault talent to rapidly spread the damage-over-time effect across all surrounding threats.
  3. Spend maxed-out Maelstrom Weapon stacks strictly on Chain Lightning to deal high multi-target damage and lower the cooldown of Crash Lightning.
  4. Execute Stormstrike resets, allowing the cleave arcs from Crash Lightning to hit secondary targets simultaneously.
  5. Deploy Sundering (if talented) to interrupt active groups and deal massive baseline burst damage.

Consumables & Enhancements
