Beast Mastery Hunter: Patch 12.0.7 Guide

The Meta Context

In Patch 12.0.7 of the Midnight expansion, Beast Mastery Hunter remains a staple of competitive PvE due to its unique advantage: 100% unrestricted ranged mobility. Able to execute its complete maximum damage profile while handling complex raid mechanics or positioning in mythic dungeons, it provides extremely consistent performance metrics. The specification leverages distinct Hero Talent branches to shape its gameplay: Pack Leader focuses heavily on deep synergy with a primary pet, reinforcing baseline critical strike setups and rapid coordination, whereas Dark Ranger infuses the toolkit with shadow-touched ammunition and sudden target execute windows. Beyond damage stability, Beast Mastery brings robust team utility, offering crowd control, reliable sovereign immunities via Aspect of the Turtle, and mandatory raid enablers like Bloodlust/Heroism via Ferocity pets.

Stat Priority

Curating your secondary stat distribution guarantees that your pets attack with maximum velocity while minimizing gaps in focus regeneration loops.

Core Rotation

Beast Mastery gameplay centers around maintaining complete uptime on your Frenzy attack speed modifiers, managing pet Focus, and chaining burst cooldowns together cleanly.

Single-Target Combat Priority

  1. Cast Barbed Shot right before your pet's 3-stack Frenzy buff expires. Maintaining Frenzy at 3 stacks is your absolute highest priority.
  2. Cast Call of the Wild strictly on cooldown during major burst phases to flood the field with extra beasts.
  3. Activate Bestial Wrath on cooldown, ensuring you don't cap your Barbed Shot charges beforehand to maximize cooldown reduction value.
  4. Cast Kill Command continuously on cooldown to burn focus and trigger main heavy hit traits.
  5. Cast Bloodseeker or use procs generated by your active Hero Talent path.
  6. Use Cobra Shot as your baseline resource filler when you have excess Focus to expend, but never cast it if it will starve you of Focus for subsequent Kill Commands.

AoE & Multi-Target Priority

  1. Cast Multi-Shot at least once every 5 seconds to maintain active Beast Cleave uptime across your pets.
  2. Maintain your 3-stack Frenzy loop via disciplined Barbed Shot deployment.
  3. Activate your major cooldowns, utilizing Bestial Wrath and Call of the Wild inside the pull.
  4. Spam Kill Command on cooldown, allowing the active Beast Cleave window to mirror pet strikes onto all adjacent targets.
  5. Weave in instant active spenders like Explosive Trap or Barrage (if talented) directly into the heart of the enemy pool.

Consumables & Enhancements

Optimize your total DPS output in Patch 12.0.7 by matching your gear layout to these recommended enhancements.
